ABOUT 3.2 MILES SOUTH ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 91 FROM HAMILTONS FORT, IRON COUNTY, ABOUT 4 MILES NORTH OF KANARRAVILLE, 53 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AT THE SUMMIT OF A GRADE, 3 FEET WEST OF A FENCE CORNER, AND E AND 3 FEET SOUTH OF A FENCE. A UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY STANDARD DISK, STAMPED H 1 1928 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 6.41 KM (3.98 MI) NORTH ALONG US HIGHWAY 91 FROM THE CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS AT KANARRAVILLE, 1.27 KM (0.79 MI) SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 15 EXIT 51 OVERPASS, 16.0 METERS (52.5 FT) WEST OF THE HIGHWAY CENTERLINE, 1.0 METER (3.3 FT) SOUTHWEST OF A T JUNCTION FENCE POST, 0.9 METER (3 FT) WEST OF THE RIGHT OF WAY FENCE AND 0.9 METER (3 FT) SOUTH OF AN EAST-WEST FENCE. THE MARK IS 1.5 METERS NW FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 0.3 M BELOW THE HIGHWAY.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
