Found D875/1954 at the coordinates posted by cjf. (Others have posted coordinates, but I thought cjf's were the best.) The disk is still readable, but it's more beat up than it appears in Butano's 2008 picture.

Looking SSE. The mark is hidden behind the black GPSr in the far corner of the top of the concrete box.

Wanted to hit the cache by Fry's, but there were way too many people around to make any kind of attempt. So I went off to find this benchmark. And there it was.

One more benchmark.

I had no idea this one was here before this.

Found with mom today. My second one!

This one is still here and accessible. Picture to follow

Found this while cachign today and I resisted stopping at Fry's for a change. :)

In accordance with the prior log, I visited this benchmark in connection with a trip to the Campbell Fry's. (Ok. That's an excuse. I was going to Fry's anyway.....)

The coordinates I provide use WGS 84 Datum.

Found while looking for nearest benchmarks to our cache, Our Kind Of Town - Campbell. Had stood right next to it earlier while trying to find it from a different location.

This one is right next to the construction for the new light rail going to los gatos. It looks like this will remain after the construction is finished.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in February 1993.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
