Pretty easy find, nice to see it's surviving the construction which has been going on for a year or more. The wood pole mentioned by shadow101 is no longer present.

This might be one of the easiest BMs around right now. Valley Med is rebuilding the entire corner at Bascom & Moorpark, and the construction crews have not only avoided the BM, but have it marked with a big wooden pole, with a pink ribbon, and the writing "B.M. -->" going down the pole. You simply cannot miss it.

Benchmark highlight with paint, right on Moorpark &
Bascom.

Descriptions, descriptions, descriptions! It's the only way to find benchmarks.
Coordinates for this benchmark was, majorly off!
While digging through the bushes for this one a Sheriff pulled someone over
right in front of me. Had a talk about what I was searching for and now the
Officer is pumped up to go and get a GPS and start hunting.
Had to wash the benchmark off with water from my bike's water bottle in
order to have a clean shot for my picture.

A cleaned, find.

I found this benchmark on my second attempt. The documented coordinates are about two hundred feet off to the East. The disc was covered with some dirt from the flower bed where it rests. The coordinates I entered were taken with my MeriPlat while standing on the disc.

That was fun! I just bought a GPS receiver a few weeks ago and stumbled onto Geocaching and Benchmarking This was my first find.

The benchmark is more obscured by the juniper bushes than it was in the January 2003 photo.

Easy find! The sidewalk in front of the marker is painted with M 879.

The marker is in the shrubs, just right of the white towel on the ground. The site is on Moorpark, perhaps 100 ft west of Bascom.
