Found the cache and then looked around for the benchmark. Eventually found it.

I didn't manage to get a close up shot of the disk but I did get a picture of a crazy ass jaywalkin goose at the nearby intersection

When I found the benchmark, I did not cross the street illegally to access the benchmark. There are other ways to access it that are less direct, but do not involve traffic.

I knew about this one for a while but didn't spot it until today. You people are crazy walking down that stretch of Almaden Expressway to get a picture!

Out to get #200 today.

Found it!

Found it almost exactly at Marky's coords, Night Tracker's were way off according to my GPSr.

photoYep, it's HS3242...
N 37° 17.325 W 121° 52.920

Found it early this morning. Parked at 7/11 walked out to it without fear,(no traffic) Trying this in rush hour is suicidal. Looks good. I think I'll look for rural BMs from now on.

Difficult to get to the inside median of Almaden Expressway to get this picture. You have to start from the intersection on the west side of the expressway, and take the dirt trail, which leads down to the creek. From there, you can go under the expressway and come out on the other side of the southbound lanes and climb back up road. Benchmark is located as described and is in good condition. This was originally HS3241 before it was reset.
