It's there right at the light pole! Pretty interesting.

Drove around today for benchmarks. Pass this all the time.

Still there!

Still there! Found this one after visiting the Library down the road.

Closest BM to home.... I drive by EVERY weekend on my way to home depot to buy yet MORE stuff for the house

A quick lunchtime benchmark makes a change from caching! I found this pretty easily - though my GPSr was way off at the site, approaching the site I had a very good indication of where it was. I read the Z1123 and a date - 1960 on the benchmark.

practically in my backyard

Easy find one the sidewalk right next to the road.

Since I was out on my 1st Locationless cache thought I would finish up with my 1st Benchmark which was not too far away.

I had a business lunch in Campbell today and decided to see whether I could find a few benchmarks on the way home. :-) This was an easy one in front of a bank.

Out searching with my dad and we found it

Since this is around the corner from our house, we had to stop by to see it. So... yup, there it was (same age as me, but wearing a little better maybe). Now on to some hard to find ones...

Out on the bike today! Twenty miles, six benchmarks.
This was #4.

Very easy to find with the directions. (Even easier if you use beckerbuns coords.) My coords differed slightly. Took a pic of McDonalds.

Here's McDonalds, looking north from the Benchmark. Grab a bite to eat after visiting this Benchmark.

It wouldn't be me if there wasn't a little adventure involved. Making a u-turn on a yellow light to get to this benchmark, I got a traffic ticket. I then waited for the nice policeman to leave and then went straight to the benchmark, which I'd seen from the car as I'd made that turn. It's in great condition. Unfortunately, I was so flustered about the ticket that I forgot to take pictures of the surrounding area, including the McDonald's across the street, which was hosting a photographer taking pony pictures for $2 each. Perhaps I'll go back sometime and take some pictures.
