Found this one today right where I expected.

Visiting family in the area and had to stop and grab some local benchmarks.

Found this benchmark today.
HanSohn's picture shows the mark in much better shape than it is today.

Recovered in Good Condition. Mark is located on San Pablo Avenue, in front of the sign for the Orientation Center for the Blind.

BackPak and I were out today Caching and he suggested I have a look on the sidewalk just north of the Carwash. There it was. WR

Easy find. Well marked.

This BM has no PID, but is just across San Pablo Ave. from #1

Yep still there! The area has changed a bit since the pics posted below, but the mark still is to be found in great shape. Coords found were very similar to those listed below.

Right in the middle of the sidewalk (well, more or less) but not nearly as shiny and smooth as the EBMUD valve covers in the middle of the street. I got N37/53.903 W122/18.105.

This BM is right on the county line.

From this BM you have a good view of Albany Hill just to the SW. There is a cache called Trifecta Vista on that hill. I recommend it.

A 2 400, ABOUT FLUSH WITH THE SIDEWALK, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.1 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
