This is walking distance, so I looked for this when we first moved here, but came up empty. For 12 years I have ignored this benchmark thinking it was missing. Now I realize that I was looking on the wrong corner... D'OH! I thought it was on the Kentucky Fried Chicken side. Wrong! It is in the bushes on the corner of the car shop... European Auto Performance Inc.! I mention this, because the coords on the benchmark page had us over at Taco Bell practically... which is .21 miles away... WAAAAY too far away! This might get you closer to where the cache really is: N 37 18.963 W 122 01.923

Found after about 15 minute search. Mark is at base of witness post, which is visible in bushes. "HT1649" is also spray painted on sidewalk. Very difficult to get picture of benchmark.

Bush has hidden BM well but sidewalk and curb mark it.

Located the Benchmark today. Even though covered by a bush, easy to see where it is due to a wooden stake with spray paint marking where it is.

The BM is completely covered by the bush now. I only found it because of the identifying paint on the cement. Getting a photo took quite a lot of maneuvering (accompanied by strange looks from folks walking by).

Found this as described--trying to locate all the Benchmarks close to home.

Found where described. The cement pad and benchmark is covered by a bush, but it is still there, hard to get a good picture

my first benchmark

This Benchmark is about half a mile from my house. Easy find today as I could tell where it was by the pictures that have been posted. The area is a little over grown.

N 37° 18.909 W 122° 01.922

Found it in good condition. 50sumtin

Found at the intersection of Silverado Ave and S DeAnza Blvd in Cupertino. Google Maps places these coordinates about 1 block south of the actual disk.

I am starting a review of my nearby benchmarks. This was exactly where described.

After finding six caches in the area, we decided to cap it off by swing past this benchmark before heading over to Cicero's for a pizza. A nice way to wrap up an evening of caching.

As Frysco mentioned, the gas station is closed and the light pole is gone, but so far the benchmark has survived! An easy find at the corner of De Anza Blvd. (Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd.) and Silverado.

Benchmark is in concrete pad between round green bush and right-hand pink-flowered tree.

Found it with no problem using Frysco's coordinates.

Thefogheads.

Yeah it is our first benchmark!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the closest benchmark to my house. It's easy to find and you can drive right up to it.

I used to get gas here. I took about the same photos as Frysco.

This is my first Bench mark find.

N 37° 18.907 W 122° 01.922

My most local benchmark, pretty much exactly a mile from my house. In good condition, the concrete base no longer has a lightpole in it anymore, and the Richfields service station became an Arco station, which is now closed. Co-ordinates given were off by 0.1 miles. Corrected co-ordinates above.
