I walked by this on the way to Park Chalet from the bus stop and accidentally discovered it while I was looking for a place to tie my shoe. So random!

Very curious just sitting in front of someone's home ...

A group walked pass the marker and I walked up for the look.

Easily spotted on the concrete monument in front of the residence. Interesting position for a reset. Will post a few images. -Batch218-

Not having logged a lot of benchmarks. I found it peculiar that this one was on a concrete post in front of someone's house. Stamped into the disk is the mention of $250 fine for tampering with it, which was a lot of money back in '56. The post makes it easy to find.

photoGPSr not necessary, the post is in the open.

I was so busy looking across the street for the benchmark I walked right by it. Twice.

Disk is there as described.

I found this benchmark in good condition. It's just south of 874 47th Ave. Except for the coordinates, it's exactly as described in the log. My GPS says the elevation was 13' above sea level.

Beautiful October day in San Francisco. I surfed Ocean Beach, the waves were waist high and it was an easy paddle out! Fun Fun...
