This is a very prominent feature of the Pt Lobos area of San Francisco. You could even see this tank from as far away atop Twin Peaks (~ 3 3/4 miles south-east).

Images taken on 10/3/06.

Found as described

I've seen this plenty of times from a distance and finally managed to get up close.

Didn't realize i saw it at first.

Saw and found it quite quickly!

I'd forgotten to get a picture of this when I was closer for a locationless cache a few months back, then spotted it again, although from much further away. It definitely falls into the "hard to miss" category though.

I had to go search this one out as it was listed as a water tank. Now THAT'S quite a benchmark! In fact it's a big enough benchmark that you can see it when traveling North on highway 1 all the way from Pacheco blvd, about 3 miles away.
