Found on way to Rehoboth.

Drive by this all the time. We looked at it on the way to Dogfish Head in Rehoboth yesterday!

Found while on vacation in OC

Looking west from the center island of the Coastal Highway, the mark is three feet above the ground at the left (south) edge of the fire station.

This Maryland State Highway Administration survey disk was found easily using the historic description. No changes are necessary. The disk is in good condition with legible stamping.

A STANDARD SHA DISK STAMPED OC 9 1977 SET VERTICALLY IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE SE CORNER OF THE OCEAN CITY FIRE DEPT STATION NO. 4. 3 FEET ABOVE GROUND.

RECOVERY NOTE BY US POWER SQUADRON 1988 (EBH) RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
