OO'rah? Another find in D.C.

Very cool setting on board the Washington Navy Yard. We were invited to stay for evening colors by the most handsome Marine EVER!!!

Found as described, in good condition. No bandstand visible. My inspection and photos of the mark and area piqued the curiosity of a couple of Marine guards manning a checkpoint just N of the mark. They inquired what I was doing and I explained, and they had no problem with it.

View to the E; mark indicated by notebook below and left of bell. A nice little park area within the Navy Yard.

Nice find.

It would be interesting to hear what the bell has to say about what it has seen, both at sea and on this base.

The Bechmark is correctly documented and was easily located. Amplifying information: The bell is the Ship's Bell from the USS Mitscher DDG-35.
