Discovered with inxtricablfate and MAGTFPLANNER while cruising through WV and VA picking up specific caches to target Counties, Independent Cities and Delorme Pages. Benchmarks were collateral damage along the way we scooped up to add to the fun.

Discovered with inxtricablfate and DirtyD13 while touring (West) Virginia in pursuit of the County/DeLorme/Independent City Challenges .

Yes!

Found it on a geocaching road trip with DaisyGirl75

Found it on my trip to Luray before my overnight hike in Shenandoah NP. I've been to Luray before and seen it. Like most people, I never knew it was a benchmark until now.

found & photoed

Found it.

I mean, come on, it's right there.... No... Over THERE. BEHIND the trees..... See it?

I like these. It's like the Capitol Dome in Des Moines, I drove by it every day for 10 years on my way to work. Same here, I see it every day, but unless you see it on a list like this, it's purpose as a benchmark doesn't even register on the radar....

Found it.

Can't miss it. My GPS measured slightly different coords.

Forgot to log this when we found the "Yo-Ho-Ho" cache here. Loved the tower and the story of why it was built.

Went to the Atlantic Ocean today. To visit a friend, not go swimming. The tower was nice during the day; it is beautiful at night.

Please see the complete recovery, including text and photos, at my website: HW3278 - LURAY BELL TOWER.

Visiting nearby McGahesville. Interesting instrument, Beautiful music.

Recovered as described. This was a fairly easy one to spot as it is larger than most other benchmarks. See if you can see it behind my GPSr.
