The school is gone but they left the benchmark.

I thought I had logged this one years ago. I had found and photographed this before. If I find the old picture, I'll put up a proper found log for that.

After tearing down the school, they replaced the sidewalk where the mark was placed. There's a new Gym that is replacing the school at this location. I'll have to get a closer look, but it looks like they left a small part of the old sidewalk intact so they wouldn't disturb this mark.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
