Thank goodness someone had just cut the weeds.

Easy to find as long as they have the weeds cut down.

Finally got the picture on this which I found a little while back and forgot to log. My brain is getting to be like mush. This one was almost too easy.

We tried to find several benchmarks today, but after our run-in with the locals at our first attempt and most of the rest being along railroad tracks, this turned out to be our only find of the day.
We had Queenfish's nieces (twins) along with us today. This was not the best place to have kids while hunting for a benchmark, but Queenfish found this one in a safe area near the sidewalk. Someone was nice enough to put a wood stake next to the cement block to make it easier to find. We then tried to find the other markers mentioned in the description, but didn't have any luck. We're wondering if the one in the curb was in a section of curb that broke away over the years. Also, we're not sure what they look like--are they similar to the main benchmark?
So... benchmark found in good condition. Other marks not found, but may still be there. Benchmark located as described--only off by about 60-70' from our readings today.

If you see this manhole cover, it's almost straight across the sidewalk to the cache.
photoNW Down towards Coal River Road.
400' roughly to the intersection of West Main and Coal River Road. Volunteer fire dept on right, and 7-11 (I think) at the west (?) corner.
