Coords near my work, so took a look and was unable to find by visual search. Area of coords is now landscaped for automative center with tan bark and bushes. Not able to find benchmark. Perhaps still exists but covered? If so, may be able to locate with a metal detector.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1969 2.2 MI NE FROM ROSEVILLE. 2.15 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT ROSEVILLE, 9 1/2 POLES SOUTHWEST OF MILEPOLE 109, 7 RAILS SOUTHWEST OF A PRIVATE ROAD CROSSING, 6 RAILS NORTHEAST OF SEMAPHORE 1087, IN THE TOP AND 1.0 FOOT NORTHEAST OF THE SOUTHWEST END OF THE SOUTHEAST CONCRETE HEAD WALL OF PIPE CULVERT 108.75, 9.8 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST RAIL OF THE SOUTHEAST TRACK, 55 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF TAYLOR ROAD, AND ABOUT 2 1/2 FEET LOWER THAN THE TRACK.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
