A grand old bridge still in use.

Staying at the nearby Embassy Suites and took a walk that night and was fortunate enough to see this lift bridge in action and saw a ferry pass under it. I took some night shots of the towers and the blinking red light is the benchmark. :)

Out and about in Old Sac today. Found a great spot to snap a photo of Tower Bridge. Never knew it was a benchmark until now. I love when I find one someplace I've been before. Always makes for a fun adventure.

I'm going to log this one (of two) because I've been over this bridge about a thousand times in my lifetime... then I started geocaching (and benchmarking!)

Yup! There it is! We found this one actually by accident while hunting the first in the Webcam tasks.

This and JS4543 made a nice double as I arrived in Sacramento for a short visit. You really have to look close in daylight to see the lights.

Part of Sacramento's Second Webcam Cache hunt.

This and JS4543 make a nice double although it would be nice if they had painted it a tolerable color. Maybe they'll get it right the next time.

Got it last night on the way home working through the Sacramento's Second Web Cam cache. I love the bridge, like the original color better. Pictures are coming.

Evidently there are several benchmarks on and around this bridge, but this is only one of two that I spied. Just getting started on this benchmark thing.

While doing Giant Bike Chain. Red light on top - didn't see close up though

Was hoping this was a benchmark. Beautiful bridge.

Found this one as part of Sacramento's Second Webcam Cache. Lots of fun...thanks!

Found this after Giant Bike Chain cache.

Given that the benchmark is the red light on top of the tower, I can't say that I actually laid eyes on this one, but I did spend about an hour looking at every nook and cranny on the north side of the bridge, because I was unaware that the marker was up there. Aaarrgghh!

Whee, same trip as the others on this date.

Benchmark is THE RED LIGHT ON TOP OF THE NORTH TOWER OF THE EAST LIFT-SPAN OF THE M STREET BRIDGE. Bridge is now known as the Tower Bridge and M Street is now known as Capitol Mall and Folsom Blvd. (See JS4743)
