The Benicia Arsenal was founded in 1851 and deactivated in 1964. This mark sits on the curb ouside the 1940s-era Administration Building.

AT BENICIA ARSENAL, IN T2N R2W, AT THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING (BUILDING 92), IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE CURB AT THE SOUTH END OF THE (OFFICIAL) PARKING AREA, 82 FEET SOUTH OF A POINT IN LINE WITH THE CENTER OF THE WEST (MAIN) ENTRANCE, 18.9 FEET WEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, ABOUT 1/2 FOOT HIGHER THAN AN ASPHALT STREET, AND FLUSH WITH THE PAVEMENT.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
