Swung by for a quick find while in the area with Ghosthunter.

I found this BM about 8 weeks ago but late in getting it posted.

Greetings Geocachers/Benchmarkers,

I found this benchmark with very little difficulty. It’s exactly where it’s supposed to be, as described by Daclaren.

Happy Benchmarking,
Ghosthunter

This one was an easy find and is in great shape. The numbers are a bit worn but still very legible. As an update to the 1942 description, this one is located on Shippensburg Road (listed below as Paved Road 01010), just after it splits off from Route 234. As you can see in one of my photos, this one is close to a PA Dept. of Highways keystone marker, dated 1937.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
