Recovered in good condition. A new description follows:
In Hamilton. Along the CSX railroad at the grade crossing of Belle Avenue, set vertically in the west face of a brick wall at the southwest corner of a white-painted building that is currently for lease (previously Tri State Concrete).
About 43 feet north of the center line of Belle Avenue, 26.3 feet east of the east-most rail (there are 4 pairs of rails), 19.4 feet east of the nearest edge of a utility pole labeled 38A, 5 feet northwest of a rusty iron valve indicator post, 0.9 foot north of the southwest building corner, 1 brick above the concrete foundation of the building and 4.1 feet above the side walk.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1947 AT HAMILTON. AT HAMILTON, ABOUT 1.3 MILES SOUTHEAST ALONG THE BALTIMORE AND OHIO RAILROAD FROM THE STATION, AT THE GRADE CROSSING OF BELLE AVENUE, SET VERTICALLY IN THE WEST FACE OF THE BRICK WALL AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE HAMILTON METAL PRODUCTS CO. PLANT, 44 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF BELLE AVENUE, 39.3 FEET EAST OF THE EAST RAIL, 0.9 FOOT NORTH OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER, 1 BRICK ABOVE THE CONCRETE FOUNDATION OF THE BUILDING AND 4.3 FEET ABOVE THE SIDE WALK.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
