ROLFE WHO LIVES 0.6 MILE SOUTHWEST OF STATION. MARK IS ATOP A SMALL KNOLL IN A FENCE LINE RUNNING SOUTHEAST AND NORTHWEST WHICH DIVIDES 2 PATCHES OF CULTIVATED LAND PLANTED IN CORN A THE PRESENT TIME. REACHED FROM WETMORE, BY GOING WEST ON STATE ROUTE 9 FOR 1.9 MILES TO EAST END OF CONCRETE BRIDGE AND ROAD TO NORTH, THENCE NORTH 1 MILE, THENCE WEST 0.7 MILE TO WIRE GATE IN NORTH FENCE LINE, GO NORTH THROUGH GATE INTO GRAIN FIELD AND SMALL CREEK, FOLLOW CREEK 0.2 MILE NORTHEAST, THENCE NORTH-NORTHEAST 0.2 MILE TO TOP OF HILL AND STATION. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS 42.272 METERS (138.69 FEET) NORTHEAST OF STATION, SET IN FENCE LINE WHICH DIVIDES 2 CULTIVATED FIELDS, 75 FEET SOUTHWEST OF GATE IN FENCE. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 59.715 METERS (195.91 FEET) SOUTHEAST OF STATION IN NORTH-SOUTH FENCE LINE WHICH DIVIDES TWO CULTIVATED FIELDS. DISTANCE FROM REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 TO REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 161.30 FEET (MEASURED). AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.6 MILE SOUTHWEST OF STATION (AIRLINE), REACHED FROM WIRE GATE MENTIONED IN ABOVE DESCRIPTION BY GOING WEST ON DIRT ROAD TO THE ROLFE DRIVEWAY AND MARK. MARK IS SET IN NORTH-SOUTH FENCE LINE 15 FEET NORTH OF FENCE CORNER. SURFACE, UNDERGROUND, REFERENCE AND AZIMUTH MARKS ARE STANDARD BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK - 30 METERS.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1950 (CAS) STATION, AZIMUTH MARK, AND REFERENCE MARKS WERE RECOVERED AS DESCRIBED AND FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION. SEVERAL FENCES HAVE BEEN MOVED WHICH CHANGES THE REFERENCE MEASUREMENTS. A COMPLETE NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS- STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 4-1/2 MILES E OF GOFF AND 4 MILES W AND N OF WETMORE, IN THE SW 1/4 SEC. 35, T. 4 S., R. 14 E., ON LAND OWNED BY F.J. DAVIS WHO LIVES 0.6 MILE SW OF STATION. IT IS ATOP A SMALL KNOLL IN A MEADOW, 180 FEET W OF AN OLD FENCE LINE, AND 66 FEET W OF A FENCE. IT IS STAMPED ROLFE 1934 AND PROJECTS 1 INCH. STATION AND UNDERGROUND MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. R.M. 1 IS 42.272 METERS (138.69 FEET) NE OF THE STATION AND 50 FEET E OF FENCE. IT IS STAMPED ROLFE NO 1 1934 AND PROJECTS 6 INCHES. MARK IS A STANDARD REFERENCE DISK SET IN CONCRETE. R.M. 2 IS 59.715 METERS (195.91 FEET) SE OF THE STATION, 115 FEET E OF FENCE, 8 FEET N OF SMALL TREE, AND 1 FOOT W OF AN OLD FENCE LINE. IT IS STAMPED ROLFE NO 2 1934 AND PROJECTS 12 INCHES. MARK IS A STANDARD REFERENCE DISK SET IN CONCRETE. DISTANCE FROM R.M. 1 TO R.M. 2 IS 161.30 FEET. AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.6 MILE SW OF THE STATION, 28 FEET N OF CENTER OF ROAD, 20 FEET E OF CENTER OF DRIVEWAY TO F.J. DAVIS FARMHOUSE, 8 FEET N OF SW FENCE CORNER, AND 3 FEET E OF FENCE. IT IS STAMPED ROLFE AZI 1934 AND PROJECTS 10 INCHES. MARK IS A STANDARD AZIMUTH DISK SET IN CONCRETE. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE RAILROAD DEPOT IN WETMORE, GO W FOR 2.0 MILES. TURN RIGHT AND GO N 1.0 MILE. TURN LEFT AND GO W 0.7 MILE TO GATE ON RIGHT. (AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.25 MILE W OF THIS POINT.) TURN RIGHT THROUGH GATE, THEN GO E ALONG THE N SIDE OF FENCE FOR 0.2 MILE TO FENCE CORNER. TURN LEFT AND GO N ALONG W SIDE OF FENCE FOR 0.4 MILE TO THE STATION AS DESCRIBED.
