We think this mark is destroyed. The sidewalks have been replaced with bricks and the curbs are obviously new since 2007. There are spikes around, but none are the same as the rivets shown in the previous logger's photos. We believe this mark should be considered lost.

17:45 I FOUND IT!!! I have tried to find this one before but no luck but this time I did it. It is exactly where the 1939 NGS documented history said it was although the coorinates are off. I marked it at N 39* 45.495 W 105* 00.692 with an accuracy of 40 ft. It is located in front of 2563 15th St. on the curb.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in 1992. No vertical observational check was made to the station. * This is a POSTED BENCH MARK height. Code NC indicates the bench mark was located on a no-check spur therefore a value was not computed.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
