First of three new BMs found on this windy sunday. The building has been covered with a shiny clear substance- like a weather sealant-so the BM now looks wet. I easily climbed over the fence to get my trophy shot as you can- just go to either of the side entrances and the fence is only waist high. Or, mayby go when school is in and the main gate is open. As for me- I like a little B&E. :D :P

A major contruction is going on for the past 2 years, but I could see the disc form a distance.
No close up photo, hopefully next time the rebuilding is over it will be possible.

Since it was about 68 degrees in February today I had to go on a walk before it started pouring rain! I have claimed almost all the nearby caches to date so I went after this benchmark that somehow got by me. Still there!

Shot of the benchmark through the fence. We could have walked around to the front and hopped a smaller fence, but decided to not trespass!

A wider shot back to show the corner reference.

4th of 6 benchmarks found today with youngest daughter Lucy! Saw it through the fence.

Found as described in good condition. If you go around to the right to the side entrance, there is a very short fence you can step over.

SR and i had a nice outing looking for a bunch of discs. this one was found and visible. it is badly tarnished. we could not get close enough to get a photo as the gates to the school property were shut for the day. took a photo of the building itself.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
