First of three found on this nice Sunday afternoon.

Looks like some cleaned the paint off. Very good view now.

Shot of the tunnel this disk resides in. I like walking through these out here as alot of em actually have very creative paintings drawn in them.

My first benchmark. About a block from my home so was a pretty quick find.

1st of 6 benchmarks found today with youngest daughter Lucy! Could read it if you squinted!

Easy find. My first benchmark. Didnt know they were so small!

Found as described in good condition.

The mark has a layer of paint on it, but with careful scrutiny you can make out the designation.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
