Found this after a visit to the Fort Greene Park. Seems to be in good shape. There is some paint on it but the marker is fully readable.
This is my first ever Benchmark.

Found in good condition as described. The marker is on the South Elliott Place side of the building. There is scaffolding around the building, but it does not interfere with the marker.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1952 AT NEW YORK. AT NEW YORK, IN BOROUGH OF BROOKLYN, AT DE KALB AVENUE AND SOUTH ELLIOTT PLACE, SET VERTICALLY IN EAST FACE OF BROOKLYN TECHNCAL HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING, 74 1/2 FEET SOUTH OF NORTHEAST CORNER OF BUILDING, 0.7 FOOT ABOVE GRANITE WATER TABLE AND 4.1 FEET ABOVE SIDE WALK.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
