Found in good condition as described. The building on the property is undergoing extensive renovation, and there was a dumpster in the driveway, but this benchmark was undisturbed and easily visible in front of the mailboxes.

Found as promised. Great condition.

Found A CORPS OF ENGINEERS, U.S. ARMY, STANDARD MAP-CONTROL STATION DISK, STAMPED 24 ELEV 244 R 25 1931 today in very good condition.

Right there near the police station, as described.

Found as described. Southeast corner of the intersection of Rte 25A (North Hempstead Turnpike) and Berry Hill Road. A wide right turn lane has been carved into this corner. Mark is about six feet from the edge of the right turn lane.

A CORPS OF ENGINEERS, U.S. ARMY, STANDARD MAP-CONTROL STATION DISK, STAMPED 24 ELEV 244 R 25 1931 AND SET IN THE TOP OF AN 8-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 3 INCHES ABOVE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
