DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1956 1.8 MI NE FROM ALPINE. 0.2 MILE EAST ALONG CLOSTER DOCK ROAD FROM THE ALPINE METHODIST CHURCH, 1.6 MILE NORTH ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 9W, ABOUT 0.1 MILE SOUTH OF A FLYING A SERVICE STATION, 111.8 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH END OF THE WEST ROCK HEADWALL OF A 24 INCH IRON PIPE CULVERT UNDER THE HIGHWAY, 78.8 FEET NORTH OF POWER LINE POLE NO. 20258, 48.3 FEET SOUTH OF POWER LINE POLE NO. 20259, 28 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF HIGHWAY, SET IN TOP AND IN THE CENTER OF A 2 BY 4 FOOT OUTCROP ROCK ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE GROUND.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
