Found as described. North side of Broadway, in Jersey City, where Truck Route 1&9 head south. On south face of concrete pier for the east leg of the Pulaski Skyway.

AT JERSEY CITY, ALONG HIGHWAY 25, AT A POINT WHERE HIGHWAY 25 PARALLELS THE PULASKI SKYWAY TO THE EAST AND TURNS SOUTHWEST AWAY FROM SKYWAY, IN THE YARD OF THE INDUSTRIAL LUMBER COMPANY, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTH FACE OF THE SOUTH LEG OF THE FIRST PIER OF PULASKI SKYWAY EAST OF A VIADUCT LEADING FROM HIGHWAY 25 TO THE SKYWAY, 35 FEET NORTHEAST OF CENTER LINE OF HIGHWAY 25 AND ABOUT 4 1/2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991. WARNING-Repeat measurements at this control monument indicate possible vertical movement.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
