Have passed this area often through the years

2GALS found this one in good shape (horselady9 and geojo!)Looked for the telephone poles and spotted the abandoned bridge through the overgrowth of PI and trees.

Someone kindly(like me) painted big PINK marks on the old highway to let me know where a CP(bm)is. I just looked for the big pink slashes on side of highway!
Maybe earmark
Found as described!

Now this one was interesting ...there no longer is a side road leading north - when US 22 / I 78 was built, Donat Rd. appears to have been truncated & an access road added west along the north side of the new highway. The only visible remaining part of the old southern end of the road is a break in the trees and this small bridge about half-covered by vegetation...the bridge is in better shape than some of the nearby bridges currently in use!

Note - bridge is about 45 ft. NE of power pole #52781-45903...

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
