As Zhanna mentioned, there is little evidence of this chimney. There are stones around the area that probably were used as some sort of construction material, but nothing identifiable as being part of the old building or chimneys. The switchback railroad stopped running in 1933. I am not sure when it was removed.

Couldn't find this one. I'll assume that it was destroyed when the plane house was removed. There is a park bench there now with a great view of the lake below.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1885 (MM) THIS IS THE S CHIMNEY OF THE SWITCHBACK ENGINE HOUSE ON TOP OF MOUNT JEFFERSON, ABOUT 1 MILE E OF SUMMITHILL. OBSERVED UPON THIS YEAR FROM KNOB AND BAKE OVEN.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1986.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
