|RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1936 (RCB)
THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN THE FIELD AS DESCRIBED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION. HOWEVER, THIS DESCRIBED STATION IS NOT THE STATION WHICH WAS OBSERVED UPON, AS WAS DETERMINED IN CONDUCTING THE RADIAL PLOT FOR AIR-PHOTO COMPILATIONS. THE GEOGRAPHIC POSITION PLACES THIS STATION ON THE TOWER OF THE HACKENSACK WATER COMPANY, JUST TO THE N OF THE WEEHAWKEN WATER RESERVOIR NO.1. THE TOWER IS AT THE FOOT OF 41ST STREET ON THE E SIDE OF PARK AVENUE. THE STATION IS NOT THE TOWERS TOP CENTER AS DESCRIBED, BUT IS THE TALLER TOWER RISING FROM THE N CORNER OF THE MAIN TOWER.
THIS ERROR WAS DISCOVERED IN THE PROCESS OF COMPILING AIR-PHOTO COMPILATION, REGISTER NUMBER T-5449, ON WHICH IT IS SHOWN. TRIANGULATION STATION WEEHAWKEN 1933 IS LOCATED ON THE S CORNER OF THIS SAME MAIN TOWER.
- The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in September 1999.
- The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
