We live near this location. We went to find this disk during laundry time today. We didn't find it during first attempt. Then we went home to get tape (my apartment is just one block from this disk ). As soon we came back, it just jumped out of my eyes, even before we measured anything. Just as mr. magoo described, can't believe how we missed it before.
updated the waypoint by our legend.

Well this side of the road was quite untamed. Much leaves and organic debris, dead weeds ,etc.
The References from the signs were any good as they were not correct or sign was missing. The only 2 solid references were the distance back from the curb and the centerline of Hartley Ave.
I probed with out luck, then swung the metal detector after pacing off the distance. no luck. finally got out the tape. Sure enough it was right were it said it was. Not sure how i missed it with the probes and the detector.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in April 1995.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
