I found quite a few rivet style benchmarks along this quiet stretch of rail today and this was the only chiseled square I found. I couldn't make out the letters highlighted by mloser. However, I did see what looked like a chiseled/chipped corner in the exact location described and photographed. I'm not sure it the chipping was on purpose or not.

Despite a 2002 recovery stating RECOVERY NOTE BY US POWER SQUADRON 2002 (KEQ) LOOKS LIKE AS CROSS INSIDE A SQUARE, to me this mark looked like a typical chiseled square on a concrete corner. To the south of the mark were the barely legible letters BM. I have taken the photo and copied it, highlighting the mark and letters.
