photoClose up
Weathered quite a bit in the last 100+ years.
photoSetting
Much less poison ivy than before.

I found the verticle marker on the old mill. The poor mill was likely quite beautiful once. I moved lots of poison ivy away to get a good photo. The marker is difficult to read, but a little powder helped.

A little easier to read: Elevation is 471 feet
photoIn the side of the old Mill
Facing South East. Old Mill Road is on your right, Route 850 is ahead (yellow line and guard rail).

Recovered in good condition - got as close as I dared (N 40°21.122 W 077°12.683) as poison ivy has sust started sprouting new potent leaves....

Mill is on NE corner of T intersection of Mill Rd. leading N & PA 850.

I could not get close enough to read the designation but I am certain this is the disk. It is in some poison ivy. This is one of the oldest disks I have found.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
