with a little searching i found.

Thanks for making this a visible BM.

Geocachers/Benchmarkers,

My friend and I found this benchmark location with no difficulty. The benchmark is in place as described. Originally hidden with debris, the benchmark is now exposed. The coordinates and description are adequate for recovery. My thanks to gnbrotz for help in recovering this benchmark.

Happy Benchmarking,
Ghosthunter
Gettysburg, PA

Coordinates are pretty good on this one. After finding zero point, I began to look around for suitable places. As I began to brush the leaves off of one rock, Ghosthunter swept over it with his metal detector and it let out a victory blast. Mark is in excellent condition.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
