Stopped by to look for the reference marks before the vegetation takes over - was able to quickly locate RM 3, but the area where RM 4 should be located appears to have had fill added. References for RM 4 should still be good, however as noted before - the station itself has been disturbed.

Recovered after short hike to the top of the mountain. Monument is tilted - probably due to construction in the area over the years. Swept area w/ metal detector for RM3 & RM4 to no avail, but did not measure out, thanks to lots of fresh new poison ivy plants - there is a fair amount of graded earth & gravel in the area, so it is posible that they are still there. Did not find AZ mark...

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1986.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
