The mark is in good condition at the same coordinates I posted 3 years ago. At some point, the disk was reattached to the building(it was missing on my previous visit). Good to see it back!

I was at the Courthouse today to renew my Notary Public and noticed the benchmark has been removed. The tool marks are very fresh looking. I read they are going to do some stonework here, that may be the reason for removal.

The White Boys Ride Again!!!

Our First Benchmark!! Found this one while we were out doing some geocaching. Talk about hidden in plain sight.
I looked at it 3 times without realising that that was it.
Zack figured this one out.

  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
