The mark is in good condition. Add to description, the Green-Beaver North and South Road is now known as Green Beaver Road, the Garfield-Petersburg Road is now known as Garfield Road, the witness post is gone, and the mark is about 1 foot northwest of Pole 309-24, about 6 inches below the surface. My GPS coordinates: N 40° 54.901 W 80° 44.738.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1950 2 MI NE FROM WASHINGTONVILLE. ABOUT 1.0 MILE EAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 14 FROM THE TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH AT WASHINGTONVILLE, THENCE ABOUT 1.0 MILE NORTH ALONG THE GREEN-BEAVER NORTH AND SOUTH ROAD, AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE GREEN-BEAVER NORTH AND SOUTH ROAD AND THE GARFIELD-PETERSBURG ROAD, 24 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE GREEN-BEAVER NORTH AND SOUTH ROAD, 59 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE GARFIELD-PETERSBURG ROAD LEADING WEST, 5 FEET NORTH OF POLE 309-24, 66-M. IT IS 3 FEET SOUTH OF A WHITE WITNESS POST, AND ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE CENTER OF THE GREEN-BEAVER NORTH AND SOUTH ROAD. A STANDARD DISK SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST AND PROJECTING 3 INCHES.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
