found intact, leaning a little.The railroad is no longer there, but is apparent where it ran. There is a small red flag present to distract being mowed over.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1944 1.8 MI N FROM FORREST. 1.8 MILES NORTH ALONG THE WABASH RAILWAY FROM THE STATION AT FORREST, LIVINGSTON COUNTY, 16 POLES SOUTH OF MILEPOST 91, AT A ROAD CROSSING, 27 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, 33 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE TRACK, 7 FEET WEST OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY FENCE, AND ABOUT 3 FEET HIGHER THAN THE RAILS. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED S 21 1934 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
