Took a lot of slogging through the weeds and the poison ivy, but found this one. Unfortunately, couldn't get a very clear picture because the entire piece of concrete had been pulled out of the ground and it was lying on its side. I'm not a surveyor but it was probably useless for surveying.

ABOUT 3.95 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 66 FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH U.S. HIGHWAY 24 IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF CHENOA, ABOUT 0.10 MILES NORTHEAST OF THE JUNCTION OF A DRIVE WEST TO A FARM HOUSE, ABOUT 0.25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE WAGNER STONE COMPANY, 83 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE NORTHBOUND LANE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 66, 34.5 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST RAIL OF THE SOUTHBOUND TRACK OF THE GULF, MOBILE AND OHIO RAIL ROAD, 46 FEET NORTHEAST OF A TELEGRAPH POLE, 61 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A TELEGRAPH POLE, 1.7 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A METAL WITNESS POST, ABOUT 3 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
