From the intersection of U.S. 40 and Routt County Road 182, go north 0.25 mile to the mark on the left. Mark is 25 feet west of the centerline of the dirt road.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1933 1.7 MI E FROM HAYDEN. 1.7 MILES EAST ALONG THE DENVER AND SALT LAKE RAILWAY FROM THE STATION AT HAYDEN, AT MILEAGE 213,36, AT A COUNTY-ROAD CROSSING, 36.7 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RAIL, 25 FEET FROM THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 11 FEET NORTH OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY FENCE, AND 8 FEET WEST OF THE FENCE PARALLELING THE ROAD, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
