Bench Mark W 131 was recovered in good condition. This mark is located at Milepost 38.2 of Routt County Road 129, and with road realignment, this mark is now about 28 feet north of the centerline of the road. The bridge at Tennessee Creek has been replaced by a culvert.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 9.1 MI N FROM COLUMBINE. 9.1 MILES NORTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 129 FROM COLUMBINE, ROUTT COUNTY, 50 FEET EAST OF A BRIDGE OVER TENNESSEE CREEK, AT THE EXTREME WEST END OF A ROCKY HILL, IN THE TOP OF A 3- BY 4- BY 1-FOOT BOULDER 15 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND 4 FEET HIGHER THEN THE HIGHWAY. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED W 131 1934.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
