Found the station and both RMs in good condition and as described. A new to reach follows: From the intersection of US Highway 40 and US Highway 191 in Vernal, UT, go southeast on US 40 for about 13.5 miles to the bridge over the Green River at Jensen, UT. Continue east on US 40 for about 250 yards to paved Road S12000E leading north. Turn left and go north and northeast on S12000E for about 1.6 miles to a graded dirt road on the right leading east. Turn right and go east on the graded dirt road for about 0.25 miles to an ungraded track road on the left leading northeast. Turn left and go northeast on the track road for about 1.25 miles to the top of the bluff and another track road leading southeast. Turn right and go southeast on the track road for about 0.4 miles to the station on the left. CAUTION: High-clearance, 4WD required for this approach to the station. There are several track roads that lead to the top of the bluff, but they are more difficult than the to reach described here.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1997.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
