Found but it seems scraped up. I guess thats to be expected as it's in a sidewalk.

Was working there today and noticed the B.M. so I figured, why not log it!
It's pretty worn out.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 AT WATERBURY. AT WATERBURY, NEW HAVEN COUNTY, AT 519 EAST MAIN STREET, OPPOSITE THE SCOVILL MANUFACTURING CO. AT ENGINE 2 FIRE STATION, 2.5 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, 2 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE PARAPET OF THE EAST DRIVEWAY, ABOUT 60 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE STREET, AND ABOUT 2 FEET HIGHER THAN THE STREET. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED J 11 1935 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
