On 5/18/2006 Zhanna could not find the BM but did find one of the control points. I was able to find control point #2 as well today. It is fixed in a concrete block but has been distrurbed. There is a very good chance the other markers have been totally destroyed.

I cannot say if the other markers were damaged during the building of the resort nearby, or prior to its construction, but after careful inspection of the area it is pretty clear that the markers are no longer there.

The trees and other landmarks mentioned mentioned in the 1940 USGS description have long since been removed, however I did manage to find what could possibly be the remnants of at least one of the oak trees mentioned in the description. Nearly all of the trees in the area are spruce or firs planted as landscaping for the resort. The field mentioned in the USGS description is now a parking lot and the buildings mentioned were razed.

Given the amount of high grass in this area finding any markers without the aid of a metal detector will be extremely difficult.
