CAMERON, ABOUT 4.5 MILES EAST OF HOP BOTTOM AND ABOUT 1.0 MILE SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF LENOX. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 92 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 106 IN LENOX, GO SOUTH ON STATE HIGHWAY 92 FOR 0.57 MILE TO A CROSSROAD. CONTINUE SOUTH ON STATE HIGHWAY 92 FOR 0.04 MILE TO A BLADED ROAD ON THE RIGHT, WEST, SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. TURN RIGHT AND GO WEST ON THE BLADED ROAD BETWEEN A HOUSE AND BARN AND UP A STEEP HILL FOR 0.37 MILE TO AN OPENING IN A ROCK FENCE LINE AND JUST BEFORE REACHING A ROCK QUARRY AT THE TOP OF THE HILL. TURN RIGHT AND FOLLOW A TRACK ROAD AROUND THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDE OF THE ROCK QUARRY FOR 0.06 MILE TO THE NORTHEAST END OF THE ROCK QUARRY, CONTINUE NORTH ON A DIM TRACK ROAD ACROSS A SMALL MEADOW FOR 0.07 MILE TO THE STATION. THE STATION MARK, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED LENOX 1959, IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN TOP OF A ROCK OUTCROP WHICH PROJECTS ABOUT 12 INCHES ON THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDE. IT IS 29.3 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A 6-INCH BIRCH TREE WITH A TRIANGULAR BLAZE AND ABOUT 6 FEET WEST OF THE EAST EDGE OF THE BANK. REFERENCE MARK 1, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED LENOX NO 1 1959, IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE TOP OF A ROCK OUTCROP WHICH PROJECTS ABOUT 3 FEET ON THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDES. IT IS 46 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A 6-INCH BIRCH TREE AND IS 12 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE STATION. THE 6-INCH BIRCH TREE HAS A TRIANGULAR BLAZE ON ITS SOUTH SIDE. REFERENCE MARK 2, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED LENOX NO 2 1959, IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE TOP OF A ROCK OUTCROP WHICH PROJECTS ABOUT 2 FEET ON THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDES. IT IS 31 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF A 6-INCH BIRCH TREE WITH A TRIANGULAR BLAZE AND ABOUT 14 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE STATION. AN AZIMUTH MARK WAS NOT ESTABLISHED FOR THIS STATION. STATION CUT MAY BE USED AS AN AZIMUTH MARK. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1 METERS.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in September 1999.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
