Was on the grounds looking around and wondered what this cube block was on the ground, turns out to be a benchmark.

Heute diese Benchmark vor der ehemaligen City Hall in Berwick gefunden.

First found this years ago.

I thought we might as well log this easy to find mark while caching today in Berwick. I did not realize until today that this building, the so called Jackson Mansion, is no longer the Berwick City Hall. The borough services have been moved to the far north end of Market St.

Wasn't looking for it, but found it while Waymarking the Jackson Mansion. It is in very good shape.

Pointed it out to wife/kids when we were out for a walk.

Located this one with Objective Cause on the way back from our last cache of the night/morning.

I actually found this benchmark back in June when I was looking for one of the stages of the joker's wild. Located in front of Berwick City Hall. I have a picture somewhere, and will post when I find it.

very easy.

Very easy to find via the description. Right in the front yard of City Hall and I probably passed this a hundred times without paying any attention to what it might be. My coordinates were fairly close to those in previous logs.

N 41° 03.442 W 076° 14.129

We found this one easily using the description; once you find the City Hall you really can't miss this benchmark. It's in excellent condition. This was a very pretty spot on such a warm, sunny day!

Very easy find since it sits in front of the most well known building in Berwick. The coordinates were off by 5 blocks so I found this one by description only. The coordinates my unit gave me were N 41 03.444 W76 14.128

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
