DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1968 5.4 MI W FROM COUDERSPORT. 5.4 MILES WEST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 6 FROM COUDERSPORT, POTTER COUNTY, ON THE SOUTH SLOPE OF A HILL ALONG A 4 DEGREE CURVE, 35 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER OF THE JUNCTION WITH THE KEATING SUMMIT ROAD, 35 FEET EAST OF A CONCRETE CULVERT MARKED BY THE PAINTED LETTERS U.S.P.B.M., 14 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE FINISHED HIGHWAY GRADE, AND 1 FOOT LOWER THAN THE CENTER LINE OF THE FINISHED GRADE. A UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY STANDARD DISK, STAMPED TT 50 T 1931 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST. NOTE-- RAILROAD DESTROYED AND THE AREA FILLED IN.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
