The mark is in good condition at N 41° 10.985 W 080° 06.557. Updated directions follow. From the junction of State Routes 58 and 208 in Grove City, about 1.4 miles west on State Route 58 to a crossroad, then about 1.1 miles north on George Junior Road to the crossing of the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad and the mark in the signal base on the right.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 2.3 MI NE FROM GROVE CITY. ABOUT 2.0 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE BESSEMER AND LAKE ERIE RAILROAD FROM GROVE CITY. IN THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A CONCRETE PILLAR A SUPPORTING THE BLOCK SIGNAL, 10.0 FEET WEST OF WEST RAIL, 48.5 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF CENTER OF THE ROAD A CROSSING THE TRACKS AND ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE TRACKS.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
