IN CONNEAUT, AT THE INTERSECTION OF BROAD AND 12TH STREETS, 1.08 KILOMETERS (0.65 MILES) NORTH OF THE US POST OFFICE, THE MARK IS AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE LAWN OF HOUSE NUMBER 607 BROAD STREET, 9.14 METERS (30.0 FEET) WEST OF THE CENTER OF BROAD STREET, 7.62 METERS (25.0 FEET) SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF 12TH STREET, 7.12 METERS (23.4 FEET) NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CONCRETE BLOCK FOUNDATION OF THE FRONT PORCH OF THE HOUSE AND 2.89 METERS (9.5 FEET) NORTHWEST OF A CONCRETE POST SUPPORTING A US MAILBOX. THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH THE STREET.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
