DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1981 IN CONNEAUT. IN CONNEAUT, ON THE WEST SIDE OF CONNEAUT HARBOR AT THE EAST END OF PEARL AVENUE, THE MARK IS NEAR THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE PITTSBURG AND CONNEAUT DOCK COMPANY MAIN OFFICE BUILDING, 9.57 METERS (31.4 FEET) SOUTH OF THE SOUTH FACE OF THE CONCRETE STEPS OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF THE BUILDING, 1.49 METERS (4.9 FEET) NORTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING AND 0.46 METER (1.5 FEET) SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF A STONE BLOCK SHRUBBERY PLANTER. THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH CIRCULAR ENTRANCE DRIVE.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
